Head Softball Coach and Head Women†s Soccer / Building Supervisor † Two full-time positions available beginning July, 1 2013. These positions report to the Athletic Director and the Luce Center Facilities Coordinator and provide oversight of the respective Softball and Soccer programs. This includes extensive travel for competition and recruitment as well as athletic development: physically, emotionally, and spiritually. In addition each position serves as the evening and weekend supervisor for the activities in the Luce Center Physical Activities Center.

The Building Supervisor hours are shared between the two coaching positions and are required both in and out of season. The positions are full-time during the school year and part-time during the summers.Coaching Responsibilities (Under the supervision of the Athletic Director): •Exhibit and articulate a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ.•Demonstrate and communicate current, practical knowledge of the sport of softball or soccer.•Be knowledgeable of, support, and uphold the philosophy of both Asbury University and the Asbury Athletic Department.•Display professionalism at all times in conduct, appearance, and fulfillment of job responsibilities. •Contribute to the development and evaluation of the total athletic program within the guidelines of the governing affiliations.•Develop the athletic, spiritual, educational, moral, and social welfare of each student athlete.•Know and follow appropriate policies and guidelines of both NCAA/NAIA and Asbury Athletic Department in all areas including: a.Assume coaching responsibilities at each contestb.Publication of all practices and tryouts c.Pre-participatory physicals for each athlete d.Selection of team members, team managers, and statisticianse.Scheduling and regulation of team practicesf.Game Schedules including recognition nights. g.Evaluation of athletes† academic progress and eligibility h.Monitoring of student injuries and rehabilitation i.Maintenance and security of team equipment, supplies, and uniforms.•Supervision of assistant coaches, managers, and statisticians.•Develop and execute recruiting strategy and consistently recruit potential student athletes.•General administrative duties related to team functioning.Building Supervisor Responsibilities (Under the Supervision of the Luce Center Facilities Coordinator): •Support all student workers in the Luce Center.

Aid in interviewing and hiring student workers and scheduling all student worker shifts. Assist in student worker shift changes and secure extra workers for those students who fail to arrive for scheduled shifts.•Be available to members and co-workers while on duty, taking every opportunity to oversee all areas of the Luce Center.•Give tours to groups or individuals wishing to visit the Luce Center. Issue memberships and IDs to those wishing to join the Luce Center.•Advertise community programs and coordinate registration for classes. Record all activities and number of participants using the facility and provide this information to the Facilities Coordinator.

  • Assist in scheduling usage requests from on campus organizations, members, and outside groups.•Maintain the security of the building at assigned work time (3-10 pm Monday-Friday and 8-5 pm on Saturday). Control the proper entrances and exits to the facility. Maintain all areas of the Luce Center to insure safe participation of all members and students.•Assist in problems or concerns that may arise from members or guests using the Luce Center. •Accept other duties as assigned.
