POSITION OBJECTIVE: The objective of the Learning Resource Center Manager is to set up, maintain, and develop a Learning Resource Center that provides print and online student resource materials for all programs offered at the school. The LRC Manager will maintain faculty resource materials to enhance instructor skills. The LRC Manager offers assistance to students who are doing research projects or studying to pass licensure exams. The LRC Manager will ensure that resource materials are available online for use in all classrooms and at home. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Hire and RETAIN qualified and caring LRC support staff. 2. Provide guidance and formal training to all LRC support staff. 3. Communicate effectively (by both written and oral methods) institutional and corporate goals/objectives for the LRC to all staff, faculty, and students. 4. Monitor the work of all LRC support staff on a regular basis to ensure quality and accuracy in all tasks performed. 5. Hold regularly scheduled weekly meetings with each direct report to gain feedback, gather ideas, assign tasks, and provide direction regarding prioritizing work. 6. Attend and significantly contribute to staff/faculty meetings within the school and LRC Manager meetings at the corporate level. 7. Attend regular student services activities including: new student orientation, graduation ceremonies, holiday parties, and student education achievement award ceremonies. 8. Provide LRC & classroom technology orientation to new faculty and conduct student orientation sessions at the start of each term. 9. Be readily accessible for meetings requested by students, staff, and faculty. 10. Assist and support the admission’s team by being available to meet prospective new students. 11. Track number of students/faculty using the LRC and communicate monthly to the Director of Education. 12. Maintain and update LRC web page. 13. Provide ongoing training on technology and resources to students and faculty. 14. Provide ongoing support (curriculum, resources and technology) to students and faculty, including provision of reference services (literature searching and bibliography preparation.) 15. Routinely check classroom and LRC technology to troubleshoot problems, and provide in-service training on technology to new staff. 16. Log in journals, hard copy resources, video/DVD resources, and take faculty requests for new resources. 17. Assist with administration and proctoring of the HESI pre-entrance exam (for schools with a nursing program). Also assist with preparation for licensure exams for other programs. 18. Participate in meetings, in-service programs and project task forces as needed or assigned. 19. Report LRC problems, needs, and outcomes regularly to the director of education and the national LRC director. 20. Work independently or with other LRC staff at other EA schools on LRC program projects. 21. Be interested in and knowledgeable of departmental details in all areas of the LRC operation. 22. Follow all procedures and standards as defined by Education Affiliates Inc. 23. Meet or exceed the bottom line requirements of the approved school budget for the LRC. 24. Complete all other tasks as assigned by the director of education and the national LRC director.
