Position Summary:
The Lead Network Engineer will be responsible for driving the implementation and operation of the policies and standards of the Enterprise Network Services department. This individual will develop the priorities of the network group and accountable for operational service levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain project and task list for the network group
Lead the design and implementation of network infrastructure
Act as an escalation point for network security incidents
Actively participate in the change management process and planning and provide quality assurance on complex changes
Challenge and motivate staff to reach their highest potential; foster the continuous professional development and career growth of a diverse workforce; coach and mentor future leaders; identify and champion high potential talent. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to ensure alignment to goals and objectives. Oversee the performance and compensation of the team
Setting task priorities of network group
Develop and be accountable for the operation of network metrics and controls
Develop and monitor key network procedures
Ensure availability of all production network technologies
Participate in strategy and planning sessions
Perform root cause analysis on all major network outages
Project management responsibilities for typical network projects
Drive network technology decisions in accordance with the Director, Enterprise Network Service and the Network Architect.
Implement and accountable for network group procedures
Experience and Education:
B.S. degree in computer science or other technical degree
Minimum of eight years progressive experience in network security engineering role
Minimum of three years people leadership experience
CCNP or CCIE certifications
Experience in the insurance industry is a plus
Strong technical troubleshooting ability and experience required
Ability to interface with business leaders to draw out business and technical requirements
Ability to prioritize team activities and deal with ambiguity
