This is a non-civil service position with the local Juab County FSA Office in Nephi, Utah.

You will be required to serve a probationary period of 1 year.
This position is located in Juab County FSA Office in Nephi, Utah.
Open to All current FSA supervisory or managerial employees, including but not limited to, CED's, FLM's, and State Office Farm Loan Chiefs with specialized experience.
Current County Operations Trainees (COT) who have successfully completed the COT program or are within 30 calendar days of successfully completing the COT program. Current FSA employees with managerial experience (Farm Loan Managers, State Office Chiefs, current CED's, and similar positions).
This position is employed by the local Farm Service Agency (FSA) committee(s):
- Responsible for directing and managing program and administrative operations for one or more counties to carry out permanent and ad hoc commodity production, commodity/facility loan, conservation, environmental quality, indemnity, disaster, emergency and defense programs as well as crop insurance operations under policies established by the Risk Management Agency (RMA).
- Provides basic farm loan program services.
- May perform additional farm loan program assignments based on authorities delegated.
- Performing office and field activities as needed to accomplish program objectives.
Qualifications are in accordance with requirements in Handbook 27-PM.
You must meet all qualification requirements by Friday, October 19, 2012.
The following are minimum requirements for the possible grade levels of this position.
You may start at the CO-09 level if you have one of the following qualifications:
Two full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education or master's or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited college or university : OR
One year of specialized experience directly related to the functions of the position to be filled or equivalent office experience in a related activity at the next lower grade level. Experience in providing program interpretation, and instruction for an agriculture program area or operational phases of farm loan programs. Such work experience included acquiring data and providing information to producers, farm loan borrowers and farming operations; writing summary reports; assisting staff with policy guidance; arranging and scheduling activities of subordinates to complete technical/clerical review. OR
A combination of graduate education and experience as listed above.
You may start at the CO-11 level if you have one of the following qualifications:
Three full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education or Ph.D., or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited college or university : OR
One year of specialized experience directly related to the functions of the position to be filled or equivalent office experience in a related activity at the next lower grade level. Experience in independently conducting agricultural operation or in participating in the overall administration of one or more agricultural program areas. Such work experience included actively participating in the development or implementation of local farm program policies; applying knowledge of agricultural principles; making presentations or providing training; planning and organizing work of lower level employees. OR
A combination of graduate education and experience as listed above.
Supervisory Probationary Period: Section 303 of the Civil Service Reform Act (Public Law 95-454) established a probationary period of one year for newly appointed managers and supervisors unless prior supervisory or managerial experience is creditable.
College Transcript: If you are qualifying based on education, you must submit a copy of your college transcript that lists college courses detailing each course by the number and department (i.e., bio 101, math 210, etc.), course title, number of credit hours and grade earned. You must submit evidence that any education completed in a foreign institution is equivalent to U.S. education standards with your resume. NOTE: Your college transcript is used to verify successful completion of degree, or college course work. An official college transcript will be required before you can report to duty.
BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION AND FINGERPRINT CHECK: Selection and retention in this position is contingent on a successfully adjudicated FBI National Criminal History Check (fingerprint check) and a background investigation.
