Starting with job offers dated February 1, 2012 and after, Geisinger Health System will no longer hire applicants who use tobacco products, including cigarettes, cigars and chewing or smokeless tobacco. Directs and supervises clerical support staff, including secretarial and Patient Access Representative staff. Assures that patients are treated with concern and that providers are provided with prompt and courteous service.
Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction.
Works under the general direction of the Operations Manager or Clinic Supervisor.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrates required detailed knowledge in the following areas: Working knowledge of electronic medical record functions including documentation, scanning and placing orders, scheduling, and registration.
Demonstrates working knowledge of billing processes and how to trouble shoot patient complaints/questions as well as knowledge of efficient patient flow through all clerical functions in the clinic.
Must have a good understanding of office systems.
Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
Demonstrates leadership skills and the ability to foster good interpersonal relationships.
Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills and strong organizational skills.
Demonstrates ability to supervise and direct assigned personnel.
Demonstrates a high regard for confidentiality.
Demonstrates flexibility, tact, and ability to perform both independently and as a team member.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience in a clinical setting strongly preferred.
Minimum of one year supervisory experience preferred.
Previous customer service experience required.
EPIC knowledge preferred.
Successful completion of all Key Access Personnel (KAPS) training classes within three months of placement in position.
