The MR Predominant Body Imaging Fellowship at Loyola University Chicago has an un-expected opening for a fellow for 2015-16. We are also in the process of accepting applications for 2016-2017.

Located in the Chicago western suburbs, approximately 13 miles from downtown Chicago, Loyola Medical Center (LUMC) occupies a 61-acre campus adjacent to the Edward J. Hines, Jr. VA Hospital, one of the nation’s largest teaching hospitals. Loyola University Health System is a nationally recognized leader in providing health care and in conducting groundbreaking research to treat heart disease, cancer, organ transplantation, musculoskeletal and neurological disorders.

The fellowship involves training in the full range of Imaging of the Chest, Abdomen, and Pelvis. The MR experience includes Abdominal, Pelvic, Chest and Vascular examinations including applications like diffusion weighted imaging, prostate MR, transplant work up, active oncology practice, MR enterography, dynamic pelvic floor imaging and female pelvic MR. CT examinations includes full-range of Chest, Abdomen and Pelvis CT, including applications like CT colonography, screening lung CT’s, CT Angiograms for active Vascular Surgery Program and Oncologic imaging. Ultrasound includes abdominal and pelvic, thyroid, testes, obstetrics, thyroid/renal biopsies and vascular/transplant applications.

Fellows rotate through MR, CT and Ultrasound during the course of the year, with the main focus of the fellowship on MR imaging. Fellows also have dedicated Elective Rotations, which are tailored to the individual needs of the fellow, including, but not limited to, Musculoskeletal, Breast, IR, PET/CT and Cardiac Imaging, depending upon the availability. Fellows routinely participate in Multidisciplinary conferences and other Departmental teaching activities. Opportunities for fellows’ involvement in Research and Scholarly activities are available, depending upon the interest of the fellow.

Fellows do not have any after-hours or weekend call responsibilities.

Candidates should be board eligible or certified by the American Board of Radiology, hold or be eligible for a permanent medical license in the State of Illinois, and must have evidence of current/valid work authorization.
