As a support staff member of the Disability Resource Center, this part-time extra help position is responsible for the procurement, modification and/or creation of academically relevant materials in accessible formats (such as Braille, enlarged, audio or otherwise digital files) in order to ensure full access to the activities and services of the College for students who have print disabilities.
Under the direction of the Disability Resource Center, the Accessible Media Lab Technician shall:
•Be cognizant of and sensitive to the needs and concerns of students with print disabilities.
•Process student requests in timely fashion and with due urgency to evolving priority needs.
•Order, track and disburse files directly to students.
•Provide guidance as needed to students on the use of such files.
•Modify existing materials into accessible format consistent with identified needs.
•Follow, develop and promote materials and processes consistent with Universal Design principles.
•Perform related duties as assigned.
$10.00/hour. This is a part time position with no benefits not to exceed 19 hours per week.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
•Very strong computer skills, inclusive of Microsoft Suite, Adobe Photoshop and Acrobat, Dolphin EasyReader, ABBYY FineReader.
•Demonstrated experience in effectively managing large-scale digital archive.
•Understanding of confidentiality responsibilities under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
•Knowledge of relevant disability laws and regulations.
Recent work experience in related role supporting students with print disabilities is strongly preferred.
