This resource will provide support for applications, principally WMS from EXE, running the Parts Redistribution Center (PRC) located in Brownstown, Michigan. The position is in the plant so the employee will have daily contact with the Plant Management and the UAW personnel.
Daily responsibilities include support for PRC specific applications. While the focus is on the UNIX based Warehouse Management System (EXE) used at the plant there is also a need to support windows technologies, mainframe technologies, and distributed RF applications used on the floor.
Job Duties:
Provide IT operational and functional support for the Parts Redistribution Center (PRC) warehouse operations located in Brownstown Michigan. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Trouble shoot and resolve functional and technical issues with applications (UNIX, Mainframe and Windows based)
Respond to user queries on system issues and provide training/corrective action as appropriate.
Liaison with Network Operations to resolve issues with wireless devices and network connectivity.
Coordinate on-site RF mapping to provide plant wide application access to remote devices.
Liaison with suppliers to maintain NCU operations
Coordinate with Network Operations Center (NOC) to troubleshot and resolve loss of network connectivity.
Provided consulting to Plant Management on Data Center Operations.
Assure Plant Management is informed of system outages, expected time to fix and impact to the business.
Troubleshoot and correct local server issues that may arise.
Assist Industrial Engineering (IE) with Printer issue resolution.
Coordinate with vendors to obtain and install firmware updates.
Coordinate with IE and NOC to gen and install new printers and/or update printers.
Troubleshoot and correct printer issues That may arise at PRC.
Respond to JCL/cron issues raised by TechOps
Review error logs from the systems and provide corrective actions to resolve identified issues.
Minimum Requirements:
Functional knowledge of warehouse operations.
Experience with WMS application from EXE or equivalent.
Working knowledge of Informix and associated 4GL language in UNIX.
Wofking knowledge of UNIX and Windows
Working knowledge of network operations
Working knowledge of RF devices, Handheld and vehicle mounted.
Preferred Requirements:
IBM Mainframe JCL, COBOL, IMS DC/DB, DB2
Working knowledge of UNIX, C, and Administration
Working knowledge of Windows Administration, and programming
Working knowledge of label (i.e., Zebra) printers
Solid background in Plant floor systems.
Supervisory SKills Required:
This position is the Ford lead for a small team located at the PRC in Brownstown. Candidate must demonstrate good leadership and must have excellent communications to keep it business management apprised of operations at the plant. Candidate will interact with the plant management on a regular basis.
