R esponsible for the overall planning and tracking of Kohl's projects from initiation through execution relating to product or system enhancements. Must understand the Product concept and have the ability to translate the concept into good Business Requirements. Facilitates and manages the design, development, testing, and implementation of these enhancements. Must have the ability to manage projects from scoping/Business Case through to launch; this includes effectively laying out the project in a project plan, organizing the project by task ownership, controlling the project by anticipating problems and pursuing resolutions, and ensuring a good communication plan is developed and executed. Manages small to large, complex initiatives. Supports diverse projects to increase system and industry knowledge as well as strengthen portable project management skills. Coordinates activities of project team (i.e. programming resources, other product areas, Client business relationship teams), identifies appropriate resources needed, and develops schedules to ensure timely completion of projects. Must be familiar with system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, in order to effectively coordinate the projects. Tests the delivery and quality implementation of system enhancements. Must have the ability to gather project requirements, research, and recommend which combination of product/system solutions will best meet the client’s needs. Will have direct ownership for project cost and assume responsibility for implementing a project on time and on budget. Job Specific Responsibilities Identifies, researches, analyzes and writes business requirements to insure client and market needs are met. This includes working closely with clients and internal departments to cleary understand and address business problems and issues.
Responsible for delivery of projects to the client and/or internal organizations. This includes completion and approval of testing, user documentation, and blended learning plans.
Insures business and system development methodologies are followed and continuously improved. This includes insuring clients and other departments actively participate in appropriate phases of the process, such as requirements definition and quality inspection of design documents.
Creates, manages, and tracks the project plan(s) associated with delivery of the products and enhancements. This includes issue identification, contingency planning and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Provides support to the sales and client organizations to insure existing and prospective clients understand the product. This includes conducting product demonstrations, providing consultative services, preparing presentation materials and delivering effective presentations.
Assists in business case preparation including cost/benefit analysis and evaluation of competitive systems.
Identifies problems resulting from lack of attention to detail and establish procedures to ensure that they do not recur.
