The Production Supervisor, who works under the direction of a Factory Manager, supervises a diverse team of employees, coordinates work assignments to meet production schedules, evaluates department and individual performance, maintains documentation of department policies and procedures and ensures compliance with CGMP regulations, ISO, FDA, OSHA safety regulations and company human resources policies, works with management staff and superintendents to ensure the department operates in a safe and cost-effective manner, coordinates professional development of department employees, investigates and acts upon production related quality issues.
Responsible for manufacturing operation in assigned factory areas
Manufacture products that meet quality specifications in a safe, timely and cost effective manner.
Schedule work activities for production employees, review employee work performances and provide feedback, coordinate safety activities for production areas, and coordinate employee training activities.
Provide technical advisement and process troubleshooting.
Review and maintain documentation to support production of medical drugs and devices.
Identify and implement cost savings and method improvements.
Provide working environment that promotes employee safety, morale and communication.
Train and develop production workforce, including Teamleaders and Manufacturing Associates.
Drive continuous improvement in product cost and manufacturing processes.
High Performance Organization – Drives shift, including but not limited to, safety performance, housekeeping, employee morale, OEE, direct labor, service and quality performance. Sets, measures and monitors performance and productivity for production processes and support functions to achieve budgeted standards.
Learning/ Change Agility and Continuous Improvement – Uses root cause analysis tools to analyze/resolve/prevent opportunities. Implements corrective action plans based on data driven decisions.Continuously looks for ways to improve performance. Provides feedback and root cause with corrective action for production misses
Time Management/ Organization- Timely completion and processing of required paperwork, including but not limited, to Time and Attendance, safety reporting, training, corrective actions, and quality documentation
Accountability- Holds people accountable; Maintains adherence to company policies, safety standards, 5s and good housekeeping practices. Holds himself and others accountable in regards to safety, quality, and production.
Building Effective Teams- honest in identifying their employee's weak points & give them the necessary tools to improve in those areas. Communicates issues timely and closed loop. Customer focus- Effectively manages shift and staffing. Facilitates workflow management, workforce scheduling, and team placement to maintain service and production planning requirements. Efficiently and effectively utilizes manpower – including cross training to minimize impact of absenteeism and discipline issues. Coordinates personnel & equipment per agreed to schedule for completion of project activities as needed (validations/project work, etc).

Requirements Education required:
Bachelors degree from a four year college or university, preferably Interdisciplinary Engineering Management or Industrial Engineering Technology.
Preferably manufacturing related experience in a medical device, pharmaceutical or related industry.
Computer skills (MS Office); critical thinking; oral and written communications, probability and statistics, decision-making skills.
Effective communication skills in one-on-one and group situations. Ability to understand manufacturing processes, and to identify improvements. Skills to prepare written policies, procedures and reports. Ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere. Ability to handle various responsibilities simultaneously.
