Provides catering and related food services to aviation customers. Transports and loads meals and supplies to aircraft and throughout the airport. Prepares meals to specifications. Performs various custodial duties. Work is performed under supervision.
Transports, loads, and/or delivers supplies and meals to aircraft, airlines, fixed base operators, and terminal conference rooms using catering high lifts and delivery vans. Restocks airline carts and carrier equipment. Removes and washes all supplies and rotatables from airline equipment. Loads carts with crew and passenger meals. Following all regulations outlined by Federal Food Administration, Idaho Food Code and Airline regulations. (50%)
Prepares small to large meals per various customer specifications and menu recipes. Utilizes food service equipment such as gas stove, oven, grills and meat slicers. Performs food safety and quality checks by using temperature taking devices, documenting findings on written logs, and following a date labeling system. Follows all FDA and Central District Health Department regulations and completes written documentation reports as required. (30%)
Performs custodial duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and emptying trash cans to keep in-flight facility in compliance with FDA and CDHD Food Codes. Cleans and stocks restroom and hand sink stations. Washes pots and pans used in food production. Performs other periodical custodial duties based on a master cleaning list, including cleaning of ice making machines, dishwashing machines, hood vents, and grounds maintenance such as shoveling snow and pulling weeds. (10%)
Creates invoices for catering orders using Excel software. Monitors and processes job related information through use of computers and online software. Reviews email, communication logs and manuals for updates and changes to specific job details or employment issues. Performs initial and reoccurring training as required to maintain licenses and certifications required by City and outside agencies. (10%)

Requires education and/or experience to attain the following:
Two years meal preparation experience working in a high volume restaurant, institutional catering environment or related field, and a high school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education.
Working knowledge of meal preparation and food safety practices; general business office and telephone etiquette, equipment, and procedures; computer operations including contemporary and related software applications; record keeping and filing practices; general customer service techniques
Ability to obtain and retain Airport SIDA badge; read and interpret written specifications, instructions, and diagrams; follow all food safety rules and regulations; safely utilize gas stoves, grills, ovens, and meat slicers; display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of City employees, the general public and other organizations; communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; complete assignments in a timely fashion; understand and comply with all rules, policies and regulations; maintain prompt and regular attendance; and perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Individuals must be capable of operating vehicles safely and have an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training
Associates degree in Culinary Arts or related field and two years experience working in a catering position.
Licensing And Other Requirements
Valid Idaho driver's license.
Ability to obtain Serv Safe Manager Certification required by Idaho State Department of Health within three months of employment.

Employees work in/at heights. Employees will also drive a vehicle as part of this position. Employees work around hazards such as aircraft, ground equipment, and road traffic during transportation of catering materials. Work includes protected exposure to chemicals.
This position works: shifts to include days, swing and graveyard, and weekends and holidays. Employees are required to provide services as requested for an operation that is open 24/7 365 days a year.
