Procurement Specialist

This position will consist of working with suppliers to negotiate terms and conditions and pricing and also meeting the delivery expectations of the division and/or department. Additional duties consist of product and equipment research, purchase order generation, and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualified candidates must have at least five years of professional experience in a buyer/purchasing agent role in the utility construction industry and have a proven track record of demonstrated cost savings. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field strongly preferred. Knowledge of construction materials and equipment specific to transmission and distribution systems and substations is beneficial. Other qualifications include effective oral and written communication capabilities, strong negotiation skills and proven organizational methodology. Must also be able to work in a fast paced work environment, achieve results under pressure, and be able to multi-task. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is mandatory.
