The SR Business Performance and Process Improvement Leader works with minimal supervision to ensure that changes to business functions, processes, financials and organizational structure are optimized with the appropriate processes, technology and people to support the business strategy. This position will work with leaders and staff across DHP and sister entities in the organization (Dean Medical Clinic, St. Mary’s Hospital and SMDV) to coordinate an integrated approach for medical management across the continuum of care (assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating). This position will utilize strong facilitation skills to elicit requirements from and solve business issues with cross functional teams at all levels of the organization. This position will specialize in facilitation and management of business process design and improvement activities, working collaboratively with business strategists, process owners and subject matter experts. This position is responsible for providing a wide area of process expertise to all levels within the organization and across the Dean Systems to improve Dean Health Plan’s effectiveness, efficiency and overall performance.
Detailed Job Duties:
Conduct elicitation sessions to gain an understanding of the business problem being addressed
Liaison with subject matter experts across DHP and DHS to leverage people, tools and technologies to improve performance, process and capabilities of the division.
Coordinates Medical Value Proposition initiatives across DHP and the system.
Facilitate work sessions with employees from all levels within the organization to identify, document and implement process improvement opportunities
Establish and monitor operational metrics.
Responsible for end to end facilitation, point person for executive owner, monitoring work across the thread, identify operational bottle necks, resources constraints, identify impact technical changes will have on the operational area. High level process and model the business processes.
Evaluate and present recommendations for process improvement initiatives
Re-engineer processes to ensure that customer needs are met and efficient processes are delivered
Provide project support during release and implementation periods
Assist users to document processes, procedures and create training plans for using and supporting newly delivered solution
Understand and follow DHP’s Solution Delivery and Project methodologies during IT projects.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, Project Office leadership, vendors and IT staff to resolve issues
Partner with business leadership and Portfolio Architect to align business strategy with IT strategy, including support of project proposal and justification activities. Supports project throughout project lifecycle including implementation.
Partner with business leadership and HR Business Partner to ensure the right people, are in the right place, have the appropriate training and skills, at the right time, for the right cost to best support the business needs
Translate assignments received in the form of objectives to specific tasks and milestones.
Mentor and train peers in process improvement tools & techniques
Perform other duties as requested and/or as the position evolves
Minimum of a Bachelors degree in a Business or Technology related field, or equivalent work experience.
Project Management experience
Ability to work independently
Previous experience leading process improvement initiatives.
In-depth experience with process redesign methods.
Understanding of business process management, workflow and integration methods and tools.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership.
Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills.
Willingness to work individually and as part of a team to achieve business objectives
Ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment, and comfortable with change.
Ability to quickly gain familiarity with business concepts, systems and workflow.
Master’s Degree in Business Administration
Six Sigma Certified Green or Black Belt
Experience in business analysis or process improvement/engineering experience.
Experience in the health care or health insurance industry.
