The Logistics Engineer assists in the development of automotive logistics and supply chain solutions. Incumbent will work as a member of the Transportation Supply Chain team to design innovative solutions that generate cost savings opportunities as well as to increase value opportunities with existing customers.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Assemble data from varied sources in formats appropriate to the specific analysis.
Participate on Project Teams in the design of solutions and preparation of proposals.
Research labor, transportation, and equipment costs.
Use Spreadsheets, Access, Visio, and Matrix, along with World Class network modeling tools to design and optimize transportation solutions.
Assist in operation implementations.
Assist in demonstrating logistics tools.
Develop and deliver customer presentations.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Logistics, or related field is required. At least two (2) years experience in Logistics is required, five (5) years preferred.
Must have excellent project management and team building skills.
Demonstrated professionalism and must have a high degree of logic, initiative, self-organization, and creativeness.
Demonstrated Financial, Logistics, and Business Developments skills required.
Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in demanding environments with tight deadlines.
Developed interpersonal and communications skills.
PC proficient with advanced Excel and Access skills.
