Reports to the AVP, Philanthropy Programs and directs all individual giving and related donation programs, and ensures the effective promotion outcome for all major revenue producing and other fundraising activities involving prospected individual donors , institutional vendors, and physician practice corporations for the Washington Hospital Center Foundation (WHCF).
Oversees the Hospital’s/Foundation’s
Reviews/analyzes Center Society member donations.
Develops strategies to increase existing members’ donations and increase the number of Society members. Builds a high level ‘inner circle” President’s Society in order to encourage donors to increase their giving. Reviews/analyzes the Hospital’s other annual solicitations – including but not limited to Board solicitation, Associate solicitation, Physician solicitation; develops strategies to increase existing members’ donations and increase the number of donors. Develops and implements programs to ensure attaining fundraising goals as defined annually.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, public relations or related field is required.
Master’s degree preferred.
Approximately five to six years of progressively more responsible job related experience in direct face-to-face not-for-profit solicitation, and in the planning/execution of a variety of special events (preferably with a philanthropic focus).
Experience overseeing a major donor group is required.
Experience securing sponsors/funding for events is desired as is experience with event promotions and communications.
Hospital/education development experience is preferred.
No special certification, registration or licensure is required.
