This position is located in Boston, MA.
The Strategy Consultant will join a small team that reports directly to the President & CEO. The team goal is to support all his requests. Responsibilities include collecting information across the bank to prepare executive presentations, perform strategic analysis, coordinate
M&A deals, understand industry specific trends, track peer banks developments and support the different divisions in any strategic matter.
The Strategy Consultant will work closely with the rest of team members in all type of projects mentioned. He will be responsible of specific projects, coordinating junior members and handling different tasks at a time. He will support the rest of the team in the collection of data, the analytical models and the generation of insight through
presentations. He will present and share his view in meetings with the CEO and other members of the Management Executive Committee. He will have to lead the interactions with other business units and corporate divisions to develop a deep understanding of the issues. As the Strategy Consultant gain skills and confidence, he will be asked to consider bigger assignments. The position provides ample opportunity to increase core skills and leadership abilities.
This position implies a significant exposure to Top Sovereign Santander executives of the organization, including presentations to the CEO and Management Executive Committee. High-energy, roll-up your sleeves attitude and commitment to success are absolutely imperative.
The position requires supervision and guidance from the Director of Office of the President and CEO, which is the Corporate Strategy area within the bank.
Analyze and monitor issues that affect profitability, growth and productivity for the different businesses units
Conduct analysis through primary and secondary research in order to identify business trends, financial performance and competitors developments
Coordinate projects and tasks distributed among junior members
Mentor and develop junior members of the team
Provide monthly updates to senior management on Business performance and produce presentations for the CEO and other members of the Management Executive Committee
Track peers' developments, understand their financials and prepare reports for the CEO and Senior Management
Education: Bachelors or Equivalent
3-8 years of experience in a consulting firm, investment bank/boutique, equity research or comparable corporate role with a strong finance background
MBA from top business school or equivalent degree
Identify specific knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for satisfactory execution of the position's primary duties & responsibilities.
Ability to discuss and present strategic topics at a senior management level
Ability to handle multi-tasking and work with a wide range of confidential issues
Capacity to communicate efficiently with senior management
Commitment to work long hours
Coordination of projects and mentorship of junior members
Demonstrated analytical, presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal skills
Demonstrated organizational skills
Experience in working within fast-paced, complex, dynamic, multi-cultural business environment
Project management skills
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical ability
Knowledge of Spanish would be a plus
Strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
