Help Desk/Distribution Technician
Winebow an international wine company headquartered in Montvale NJ has an interesting
position working in our distribution center in Pine Brook NJ. We are looking to add a Help Desk Distribution Technician to our already successful IT team. This position reports to the Manager, of Distribution Technology. The position hours are 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM Monday to Friday. This position is very hands on and will be supporting our warehouse operations and assist in help desk support company-wide.
Provide on-site, second shift support of distribution technologies
Resolve general technical issues in warehouse and other locations, especially those in other US time zones
Configure and support office wireless networking solutions (WLAN)
Follow procedural quidelines to ensure consistent work standards
Enforce security and licensing policies as established by Winebow IT
Ensure the logical and physical security and integrity of all servers and data
Ensure that any changes or upgrades are planned, tested and documented before implementation, and have received approval from appropriate persons
Implement help desk ticket management solution and encourage users to make use of proper help desk channels
Assist other IT staff with projects and miscellaneous tasks as required
Monitor all systems for security violations regularly
Troubleshoot PCs and related equipment
Provide PC applications and related assistance(especially regarding MS Office 2007 and line-of-business solutions)
Evaluate repair/replacement options and request new equipment or necessary repairs
Follow up to ensure employees have been trained and are utilizing software packages
Provide customer support as needed
Flexible work schedule-position is second shift, 4: 00PM to 12:00 AM Monday to Friday
Occasional travel to satellite office locations as required
Additional Skills and/or Educational Background:
BA/BS in information Systems and /or Computer Technical Support, or equivalent experience preferred.
2 year's experience in an Information Help Desk environment.
Knowledge of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2003/2008, Active Directory, Exchange, SQL Server, Microsoft Office 2007 suite, Cisco network equipment, Cisco VPN client software, mobile solutions (laptops, PDA's Blackberry, aircards , etc.,), common hardware, and general industry-accepted best practices for configuration, security, etc.
(at minimum, theoretical knowledge required; practical knowledge preferred)
Demonstrated strong communication skills
Demonstrated dedication to superior customer service
Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive attitude in pressure situations and under deadlines.
