is currently seeking a talented and innovative

Scientist II Bispecific Antibody Engineering

to join our

Biotherapeutics

department located at our

Ridgefield, CT

facility. As a Scientist II you will contribute to R&D discovery research by generating and screening novel bi-specific molecules. The Scientist II will implement protocols as required and provide molecular biology and antibody expertise within the Lead Optimization Group aiding the skill center productivity.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist with generation of bispecific molecules from existing antibodies using knowledge of biophysical interactions of variable light chains and variable heavy chains.

Effectively communicate and defend own work, orally and in writing, in the context of the team goals at meetings.

Demonstrates clear understanding of assigned tasks producing test results or reagents. Understands how these are used in the skill center process and insures proper reporting.

Designs analyses and interprets own experiments with input from project or technical teams.

Complies with all applicable regulations; Ensures that work performed in area of responsibility is conducted in a safe and compliant manner; Maintains proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies.

Contributes to departmental administration; Demonstrates fiscal responsibility with respect to cost of experiments, technology, external collaborations, and travel.

Requirements:
Masters degree (e.g. MBA, MSc) in Biology AND/OR 2 years experience with BS degree in Chemistry AND/OR Biochemistry

Hands-on molecular biology experience (i.e. restriction cloning, site-directed mutagenesis, PCR, RT-PCR, plasmid and library construction)

Ability to work within a collaborative team environment and present and defend results to project and technical teams.

Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of immunoglobulin structure and function

Experience with DNA sequence processing software such as Vector NTI, Sequencher, Lasergene, or equivalent

Experience with design of constructs for both prokaryotic and eukaryotic expression systems

Ability to plan and conduct laboratory experiments and evaluate and interpret data

Ability to propose new experimental designs, conduct probing experiments

Ability to multi-task

Eligibility Requirements:
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including verification of your past employment, criminal history, and educational background

Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)

Must be 18 years of age or older
