Position Title: Clerical Assistant
Position Summary: The Clerical Assistant is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support to the Revenue Services and Transcriptions Departments. Successful candidates are pleasant, professional, highly organized, flexible and demonstrate the ability to multi-task.
1. Provides clerical and administrative support to assigned department(s). Receives, sorts and distributes mail, including incoming and outgoing interoffice mail. Orders supplies to maintain adequate inventory levels.
2. Assists in processing paperwork for medical claims. Accesses medical reports from information systems, as requested. Maintains file cabinets. Sorts, collates, prints, folds and mails patient letters and studies. Prepares envelopes for mailing. Meters and mails forms and letters in a timely manner using meter and mail processing machines.
3. Expedites requests from attorneys for statements and medical records as appropriate. Escalates requests to supervisor as needed.
High school diploma or equivalent , required. Prior office experience, including experience with filing and computers, preferred. Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate the ability to multi-task and be flexible in completing assigned duties. Must possess strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and excellent manual dexterity.
Physical Requirements of the job: Sitting will be required 80% of the time. Walking, bending and crouching for 20% of the time.
