Communications Specialist and Office Administrator to VP Communications. This is an excellent entry-level position for an aspiring corporate communicator to receive an enterprise-wide view of a $33 billion aerospace contractor by supporting the Vice President of Communications for Boeing Defense, Space & Security. As the primary support role for the Vice President of Communications this job entails managing the schedule and other activities of a senior executive and assisting with the coordination of an effective operating rhythm and information sharing process between the executive, the function's leadership team and the Communications organization at-large.

The successful candidate in this role will gain an understanding and insight into the operations of a large, high-performing corporate communications organization as he/she manages the executive's calendar and travel. The candidate will alsoplan, coordinate and implement all the logistics and communications related to the VP's operating rhythm. In addition they will proactively review all upcoming activities, events and commitments, ensuring all materials needed to support each activity are available in a timely manner for review.

The candidate will work with senior executives both inside and outside the Company and will review all incoming correspondence, prioritize and prepare responses for review by the VP. He/she will also work with the VP and Communications leadership to set priorities and communicate with the larger organization. The successful candidate will bring to the position an appropriate foundation of college-level Communications training and practical experience as a communicator through internships or previous positions. The candidate must have solid written and verbal communications skills in order to prepare and proofread copy and correspondence for style, spelling, grammar, punctuation and format to ensure effective communication. He/she will oversee all logistics of VP activities to ensure consistent, positive presentation of the Boeing image and messages to targeted internal and external audiences. They will collect and compile data in support of the VP of activities and schedule planning.

The position will manage key aspects of the VP's communications with the wider BDS Communications Team, including email communications, presentation development and management of content in the team's shared server. These elements are a key aspect of implementing strategic plans, including recognition events, all-hands meetings and regular communication for effective communications that provide timely and credible information to employees to educate, inform, align and motivate them to support the company's business plans and objectives.

The successful candidate will also be given the opportunity to participate in teams and activities to gain increased practical experience in the Communications function.

This administrative support role is viewed as an excellent opportunity for an entry-level candidate to develop into a versatile and skilled Boeing communicator of the future.
