GENERAL SUMMARY:The Lead Maintenance Associate is responsible for oversight/coordination of maintenance personnel performing the completion of projects and work order requests to build and repair equipment as quickly and accurately as possible while keeping associated costs to a minimum. This individual is also responsible for preventive maintenance assignments keeping all equipment in good operating condition to meet the Plant's goals. The lead maintenance associate will also spend up to 50% of his/her time on tool. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:* Provides technical direction and assistance to support activities of maintenance personnel.* Supports continuous improvement of maintenance activities for unit and equipment.* Prioritizes and assigns work to maintenance personnel.* Performs all the duties of a Maintenance Associate I & II. * Performs and documents work orders and preventative maintenance tasks as assigned. * Maintains and keeps track of workload and assignments. Completes and maintains all required paperwork, records, maintenance logs, documents, manuals, drawings etc. * Follows applicable Safety, Health and Environmental rules and guidelines while performing any procedure. * Maintains departmental housekeeping standards. * Manages and documents maintenance effort via electronic CMMS system/database* Orders parts and equipment as needed* Other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:* Requires the ability to operate a wide variety of tools or equipment such as hand tools, power tools, drill press, band saw, welder, cutting torch, lathe, fork truck, etc. * Must have knowledge of industrial electrical, including advanced electrical (three phase 260 volt and higher) design, sizing of components and installations, etc. * Must have knowledge of HVAC systems and components* Must have knowledge of mechanical systems including gear boxes, motors, air compressors, pumps, AC, DC, drive troubleshooting, etc. * Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English; read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and product recipes/material identifications. Must also be able to read/comprehend electrical and mechanical schematics. * Must have mathematical skill to add, subtract, multiply and divide and the ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.* Must be able to effectively communicate in English one-on-one and in small group situations.* Must have ability to reason and address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.* Must have experience with Microsoft products and CMMS software* Must have manual dexterity sufficient to operate a wide variety of small hand tools, scales, spatula, barrel cart, hand trucks, fork lift, utility knife, and mixer/blender machinery and computer equipment. Required Length & Type of Experience:* 5 years of prior experience in maintenance, construction, or in a related field; or a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent. * Experience should include the following:* Workleading experience.* Complex machine controls and instrumentation (including sophisticated instrument systems, PLC's, etc. * HVAC systems* Complex welding/brazing * Hydraulics * Plumbing * Pneumatics * CarpentryRequired Certification, Licenses, Registration: * N/A PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The characteristics listed below are representative of the physical demands required by an individual to successfully perform the essential duties of this position. Required Education:* Requires an Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in maintenance mechanics related field;* Five years experience in maintenance, construction, or in a related field; or a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent.
