Provides secretarial support and administrative assistance on a departmental level.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Demonstrated ability to use the English language-both written and verbal. Ability to type with a minimum of errors, utilizing proper grammar, syntax and spelling. Ability to gain a working knowledge in a system-wide word processing program within 6 months of hire/transfer. Ability to perform general math and reasoning skills. Ability to organize and function effectively with a minimum of supervision. Good interpersonal skills essential. Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
Education: High school degree or equivalent required. Secretarial science education or comparable experience preferred.
Experience: Two years of progressively responsible clerical/secretarial experience, involving public contact.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Requires prolonged sitting. Involves frequent telephone usage. Range of motion to move office supplies and materials audio/visual equipment, printed material, etc. Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate office equipment. Visual acuity, listening, verbal and written communication ability required.
