Southern Auto Auction is one of the largest independently owned auto auctions in the U.S. Over the past 66 years we have expanded from an 8-lane facility to 20+ lanes. We are seeking a Staff Accountant to work in our fast paced, unique office environment and learn the auction process from the ground up.


- Provide support to the controller
- Assist with month end and year end close
- Accounts payable
- Accounts receivable
- Purchasing and inventory
- Prepare and input monthly journal entries
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation
- Balance monthly inter-company account
- Balance and submit Sales and Use Tax return
- Process Month-end work in process and clean up reports
- Process Month-end inter-company account
- Balance monthly inventories
- Accrue monthly interest and administration for various finance accounts
- Cross-train on all job functions in accounting and finance department
- Assist management with special projects as needed

Education and Experience

- Bachelors degree in accounting preferred
- At least 2 years of general accounting
- 1-3 years of public accounting
- Full charge bookkeeper for multiple companies
- Solomon experience a plus
- Automotive dealership experience a plus
