The Financial Aid Office Assistant Director for Compliance is responsible for coordinating campus wide Federal Title IV, veterans, and military related compliance initiatives. This position is responsible for documented compliance, reporting and maintaining audit and program review standards through focused continuous improvement efforts.

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement)
Perform on going assessments of key performance measures for Financial Aid and Veterans Services Office using various assessment tools to ensure quality service and compliance.

Collaborate with Coordinator of Veterans Services for the ongoing assessment of the efficient, accurate delivery of all services to veterans, service members and their dependents.

Establish periodic reviews of Student Records utilizing top audit and program review standards.

Review processes with the Assistant to the Dean of Student Financial Support Services to assess the delivery of federal work study program funds and ensure compliance with management of consortium agreements and tuition waivers.

Establish a review process with Financial Aid Advisor for state grant and scholarship programs and Assistant Director for Processing and Reports to assess delivery of quality services and funds consistent with program requirements.

Collaborate with the Assistant Director for Processing and Reports to assess the effectiveness and accuracy in delivery of Federal Title IV grant and loan program funds in compliance with all relevant regulations.

Collaborate with the Assistant Director for Client Services to ensure all consumer information services are delivered to current and prospective students in compliance with federal regulations pertaining to veterans, service members, their dependents, applicants for and recipients of Federal Title IV student financial assistance.

Support the Assistant Directors and Dean to ensure the Financial Aid and Veterans Services Offices policy and procedures manuals ( PPM ) are up-to-date addressing all compliance issues.

Collaborate with IT staff and Assistant Director of Financial Aid for Processing and Reports to enhance services, efficiency and compliance through use of technology.

Communicate with various College offices as needed to ensure the institution is meeting requirements of agreements with military services, Veterans Administration, and U.S. Department of Education in serving veterans, service members, military dependents, Federal Title IV, and state grant and scholarship recipients.

Develop and implement a process to identify current and prospective students who are veterans, service members, and dependent family members.

Utilize communications management to contact all veterans, service members, military family members, and enrolled Federal Title IV students to ensure awareness of services available to assist them in successfully reaching their educational goals.

Advise Assistant Directors, Dean of Student Financial Support Services, and Coordinator of Veterans Services, on all matters which contribute to continuous improvement in delivery of quality services to students in compliance with all Title IV, Veterans Administration, and Department of Defense regulations.

Assist Dean and Assistant Directors in periodic review and modification of programs, services, policies, and procedures as needed to ensure continuous improvement and compliance.

Stay current with federal, state and college, veterans, and financial aid regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in the delivery of services.

Travel to appropriate conferences and training meetings. Serve on college committees. Conduct staff meetings as needed for planning, information sharing and training.

Minimum Education/Experience
Bachelor Degree

Three years full time work experience in a Financial Aid Office or Veterans Services Office.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Demonstrated ability to implement policies and procedures to meet compliance requirements in Federal Title IV and/or Veterans programs.

Demonstrated ability to provide quality service to students.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience with Computer Databases to access information.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office or similar software, with strong skills in spreadsheets and databases.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions
Indoors, sitting, standing, typing, light lifting less than 10 pounds, walking and using a personal computer.

Preferred Qualifications
Training in student services, communications, or public relations.

Knowledge and understanding of campus-wide initiatives focused on student success.

Master Degree in a student services program of study.

Bilingual skills.

Required Training

Work Hours
Monday through Friday 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.
