The Senior Project Manager I furthers the organization’s goals by consistently delivering quality projects. Consults with business unit managers to capture agreed-upon business objectives. Analyzes those objectives and leads projects to successful completion.

The Senior Project Manager I orchestrates the work of the project team to ensure that all tasks are performed timely and to the appropriate quality standards. Applies project management knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project execution. Builds positive relationships with project team members and business units by maintaining open communication throughout the project lifecycle. Demonstrates the ability to apply the elements of the project management discipline at a level of rigor appropriate to the project.

Integration Management
• Lead assigned projects and assume ownership for successful project execution
• Comply with Enterprise Program Management Procedures and Enterprise Project Management Lifecycle
• Complete PID with Business Owner
• Create project in Clarity and perform Clarity updates
• Submit Gate Exit Review requests
• Ensure projects are included in Executive Governance meetings as needed and coordinate with sponsor to represent the project
• Track project issues to resolution using consolidated action item/issues list and escalate as needed
• Resolve project and project team conflicts, as needed
• Ensure smooth transition to operational units for post-production support
Scope Management
• Manage project scope
• Ensure completion of RD by Business Analyst with Business Owner and Stakeholders
• Obtain Stakeholder approvals on business requirements and functional/technical designs
• Create and maintain detailed project plan/work breakdown structure (WBS) in Clarity
• Enter, track, and manage all project tasks (ET, business, vendor, etc.) in Clarity
• Complete project scope change request documentation and obtain sponsor approval
Time Management
• Work with all impacted groups to define and schedule project activities
• Create and maintain project schedule and baseline project in Clarity
• Track timelines and deliverables for all groups
• Ensure all project deliverables are completed timely by the assigned resource(s)
Cost Management
• Ensure project tasks are correctly identified in Clarity as Expense or Capital
• Work with Business Owner and ET Manager to develop the Project Cost Summary in the PID. Review Project Cost Summary with IT Finance to ensure that costs are properly budgeted (Capital vs. Expense) and supporting documentation exists for project benefits (revenue generation and expense reduction).
• Acquire a general understanding of what the proposed cost is for each item listed in the Project Cost Summary
• Update Clarity with the approved Budget (Project and annual totals)
• Track Project Cost Summary costs related to the project (monthly resource allocation reports and invoices) and update in Clarity at least monthly
• Compare project actual costs to project planned costs at project closing and explain -/+ 10% variances
• Work with Business Unit CFO at project closing to ensure project costs have been booked in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Transition the tracking of project benefits (revenue or expense reductions) to the Business Line CFO at project closing
Quality Management
• Ensure QA testing is planned and scheduled
• Ensure compliance with the Quality Management Test Plan
• Approve QA Test Plan for the project
• Ensure Technical Design Review is completed
• Track and manage QA defects using the corporate defect tracking tool
• Ensure Change Management procedures are completed by the ET Lead
Human Resource Management
• Assign resources (ET, contractor, vendor, business, etc.) in Clarity to the project and to specific tasks based on direction from project team, ET Lead and Business Lead
• Ensure all project team members are aware of their role(s) on the project
• Track and manage project team member performance
Communications Management
• Coordinate communication and training for stakeholders, project team and users
• Provide project level status updates to Sponsor, Business Owner and Stakeholders
• Schedule, lead, and document project meetings
• Create and maintain project sharepoint site, when appropriate
Risk Management
• Work with the necessary extended stakeholders and Corporate Risk to identify project risk factors (business risk, enterprise risk, financial risk, execution risk, organizational risk, technology risk, etc.)
• Complete Risk Mitigation Plan with extended stakeholders and Corporate Risk
• Monitor identified project risks and update Risk Mitigation Plan
Procurement Management
• Work with Corporate Procurement on all vendor contract negotiations
• Ensure RM510 contract administration activities are completed for vendors associated with the project
• Manage projects of all sizes that are typically less complex or lower risk
• Manage multiple projects effectively
• Demonstrate basic understanding of project management processes and the Project Management Life Cycle using project management tools and templates
• In-depth knowledge of one or more lines of business
• Understanding of business processes and functions at a high level
• Comprehension of the capabilities and functionality of enterprise systems at a high level
• Awareness of products and services offered in the delivery channels
• Establish a mutual understanding with project team members

• Bachelors degree or related experience
• 1 to 3 years project management experience preferred
• Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
• Microsoft Visio and Project desirable
• Microsoft SharePoint desirable
• Niku Clarity and Workbench desirable
• Banking or financial services industry experience desirable
