America's Logistics Combat Support Agency

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) agency. DLA provides worldwide logistics support for the missions of the Military Departments and the Unified Combatant Commands under conditions of peace and war. DUTIES:
As a Property Disposal Technician (OA), you will be responsible for the following duties:

Issueing RTD Property where forklift is not required.
Processing property accounting and other transactions into automated systems.
Researching, reconciling, and correcting a broad range of database rejections.
Supporting customer inquiries and actions, including property availability.
Preparing annual files outline and record management.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
To qualify for a Property Disposal Technician (OA), your resume must support:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify at the G S- 05 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS- 04 grade level. Specialized Experience is e xperience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector . Applicants must meet eligibility requirements, minimum qualifications and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Examples of creditable specialized experience are:

Researching and reconciling discrepancies between records and accounts, and initiates adjustments

Reconciles sales logs and cash receipts/cash register tapes

Receives shipping instructions issued by buyers

Distributes shipping bills of lading, maintains a close follow-up until copies of shipping date

Weight certificates and tickets are returned

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, and abilities) in the following areas:

Knowledge of Property Disposal Regulations, Policies, and Procedures

Knowledge of Software functions

Ability to communicate

Knowledge of Administrative Procedures

EDUCATION: Education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Education must be from a college or university accredited by an organization approved by the U.S. Department of Education. See http://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/Search.aspx . If using education to meet basic qualifications, YOU MUST SUBMIT A TRANSCRIPT as supplemental documentation. To qualify based on education in lieu of specialized experience, applicants must possess: 4 years above high school.

Applicants may substitute education for specialized experience as follows:
For GS-5 level positions (except Clerk-Stenographer, which does not require specialized experience), only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.

COMBINATION: Applicants may qualify based on a combination of the required specialized experience and education as defined above.

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:

Best-Qualified: This highest category will be used for those candidates who possess the type and quality of experience that substantially exceeds the minimum qualifications of the position, including all selective placement factors and appropriate quality ranking factor(s), as determined by the job analysis.

Highly-Qualified: This higher category will be used for those candidates who possess the type and quality of experience that exceed the minimum qualifications of the position, as determined by the job analysis.

Qualified: This lowest category will be used for those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications of the position and are proficient in some, but not all, of the requirements of the position. Candidates may require extensive training and/or orientation in order to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position.

Names of the candidates in the Best-Qualified category will be sent first to the hiring manager for employment consideration. Applicants in other categories will be referred in accordance with category rating procedures.
