The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for maintaining the Plant's competitive advantage through the use of technology. Will interact with other departments, divisions, and organizations to provide the best optimal use of technology to meet business objectives, savings opportunities and operating requirements. The Senior Project Engineer will manage capital resources within the plant to achieve technical objectives. In addition, will be responsible for facility-wide environmental permitting/reporting, emergency and crisis planning, and safety and OSHA requirements as they relate to capital expenditures and engineering specifications.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plan for manufacturing and capital investment to maintain the facility's position as a world-class food manufacturer.
  • Provide technical and project management expertise to ensure successful completion of all capital initiatives.
  • Direct management of available and fixed assets.
  • Responsible for the preparation and administration of annual capital budget in excess of $7.5 million.
  • Initiate capital projects leveraging technology to produce creative and breakthrough solutions to current manufacturing restrictions and to provide next generation manufacturing systems.
  • Prepare and manage annual department expense budget.
  • Provide project support for container and finished product case handling initiatives
Job Complexity
  • A new product line will be added to the plant. Determine methods for integration of new manufacturing systems into current plant infrastructure to minimize capital investment and time to market. Lead multi-functional team to ascertain new manufacturing requirements for infrastructure, process equipment, utilities, ingredients, and process controls.
  • Coordinate efforts of plant, corporate, vendor, and consultant resources in developing cost effective approach while insuring productivity and reliability. Provide final technical approval and recommendation.
  • Increased productivity is required to meet plant manufacturing objectives. Work with interdepartmental team to identify opportunities and often create technical teams to provide technology based solutions. Resulting capital projects are integrated into the capital plan and technical resources are allocated. Provide technical leadership and continuity to the manufacturing strategy.
  • Capable of providing presentations and conveying difficult information to supply chain business and functional middle management.
  • Integrate PLC controls automation with Allen Bradley, TI and Control Logics

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline required.
  • Minimum of 8 years Engineering and/or Maintenance experience.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of all aspects of plant operations.
  • Ability to excel in developing strategic goals and integration of diverse initiatives.
  • Able to direct and lead others to produce desired results.
  • Effective planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and assignments.
  • Capacity to approach problems effectively and creatively.
  • Possess effective presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experienced team player, bringing cohesion, enthusiasm and energy to group efforts. Working
