The Collections Analyst is responsible for managing key high profile accounts to ensure that they are making timely payments towards the outstanding balances. This position is
responsible for providing comprehensive reporting solutions to the Collections Department and providing data analytics to highlight useful information and support decision making.
This position is a subject matter expert and makes independent and collective decisions on various operations throughout the department. This position will serve as a resource for Associates and ensures processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
In addition, this position trains new Associates, processes and reconciles debits and credits, prepares daily forms, and reviews and researches account history to resolve discrepancies.
The Collections Analyst will also be responsible for finding sales leads through their daily contacts as well as working closely with the Accounts Receivable department to ensure that payments are applied in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Makes daily business decisions by approving and processing mass cancellations, determining preliminary contract negotiations and also negotiating settlements
Researches account details and resolve customer concerns on our Insurance portfolio
Negotiates account settlements within established guidelines
Works with clients to resolve delinquent/past due accounts
Creates Excel spreadsheets using pivot tables, macros, and VLOOKUPs to analyze data to make decisions and to create processes to improve efficiencies
Serves as a resource for Associate’s regarding proper processes and operating procedures
Works with Collectors to address difficult inquiries
Forwards complex inquiries and requests to Accounts Management when necessary
Promotes electronic products and services to clients to improve efficiency

Bachelor’s Degree in a business related field required; finance, accounting, economics preferred; six sigma credentials preferred.
Minimum of 3 years experience working in a commercial collections focused
role with high volume transactions.
Finance/Accounting background that encompasses the ability to understand account aging, DSO, monthly impact and results of operations and the identification of problematic trends in premium cash flows.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required (use of macro’s, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
Microsoft Access experience preferred.
Research capabilities and working knowledge of
Minimum of one year experience leading a small group.
Comfortable in making direct client contacts regarding issues of delinquency.
Ability to manage and report on multiple areas of responsibility, providing updates as needed each day.
Must possess analytical skills, problem solving skills and be very detail oriented.
Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment while providing effective customer service.
Must be able to read, write and understand English and comprehend instructions.
Effective verbal, interpersonal communication and listening skills required as well as public speaking.
