Business Analysis Services Manager
Develop and manage the Business Analysis group. The group will introduce and manage all of the future state practices for the Business Analysis discipline. Manage and develop a team of business analysts to ensure that business needs are captured accurately and defined clearly for the technical and testing teams.
This is a challenging, highly dynamic leadership position and an opportunity to help build West Bend’s world class IT organization.
Ensure team assembles comprehensive analysis to address business problems; specifically, development of requirements gathering processes, tools, production of artifacts, building of a BA competency center (for standards around the BA role) and resource management
Support the SDLC through creation (or facilitate creation of) various models, documents and specifications that will contribute to effective software development, which may include: Vision documents, Business Process Models, Business Rules, User Stories, Use Cases, Use Case models, Activity (swim lane) diagrams, Collaboration Diagrams, Functional and Supplemental Specifications, and other types of artifacts, deliverables and handoffs
Develop and communicate clear performance expectations; monitor and observe performance of direct reports; provide clear and timely feedback and development; reinforce through coaching feedback.
Cast a positive “shadow of the leader” work ethic/attitude
Attract, hire and retain talented IT professionals.
Create and effectively use performance measurements to quantify and benchmark IT productivity, effectiveness, and customer service levels.
Sets high expectations, is service-driven, and is interested in the growth and development of direct reports, and will lead in a manner consistent with company core values.
Quickly become a valued member of the West Bend IT management team and contribute strong leadership toward that end.
Bachelor’s Degree, equivalent experience or combination
5+yrs experience managing BA team in a software development environment
Comfort navigating complex organizations and managing a team in these organizations
Ability to see, account for and coach staff in the "big picture" as well as the details and to be able to tie BA initiatives to corporate goals
Sound insurance industry knowledge; preferably property and casualty insurance
Strong project and team management skills (e.g., planning, budgetary control, people management etc.)
Ability to review others work and mentor
Good functional understanding of technology
Good understanding of structured developmental methodology, including waterfall, iterative and agile
Understanding of issues and the impact on project schedules and scope
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Expertise in the Business Analysis practice, preferably familiar with IIBA processes and standards
Good understanding of test plans/cases and project management practices, including project estimation
Ability to communicate issues clearly to both business and technology professionals
Ability to juggle multiple tasks , be self motivated and driven to succeed
Experience in selecting and applying industry standards and/or frameworks (ITIL, CObIT, PMBOK, CMMI, ISO, etc.)
