BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Under direction of the Executive Chief Pilot, plans flights and regularly pilots and navigates utility fixed wing aircraft capable of all weather flying carrying out a wide variety of missions such as photography, conservation, law enforcement, census flights, aerial surveys and utility transportation of state personnel and cargo. This position is directly responsible for the safe, efficient and professional conduct of these flights. Can serve as second-in-command under the direct supervision of a pilot-in-command and large multi-engine aircraft.
TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Opt A – Fixed Wing
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of two years of college.
Requires a 1st class FAA Medical Certificate and passing an IDOT pre-employment physical, a FAA commercial pilot certificate with single-engine and multi-engineer landing rating, an airplane instrument rating, 500 hours total fixed-wing pilot time, 300 hours as pilot-in-command and 100 hours in multi-engine
