DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:|
Lead the development of a new LWD NMR tool.
Model the response of an NMR tool for a given configuration and predict the response of the tool. Recommend design changes to meet tool specifications.
Conduct experimental measurements to evaluate the tool response and recommend design changes.
Provide algorithms for NMR tool firmware and surface software processing.
Work with the mechanical, electrical, and firmware development engineers to determine the design parameters.
Document the processes and associated results, and communicate them internally and externally as required.
Participate in internal and external technical forums on publicizing new techniques and technology including training of customers/staff when required. Writing for technical conferences and symposia will be encouraged.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
In-depth knowledge of NMR theory, tool design, measurement, and principles.
Understanding of petrophysical analysis techniques, especially those related to NMR measurements.
Experience in numerical modeling and/or experimental measurements of NMR tools.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
Experience in LWD NMR tool development is a plus.
Understanding of LWD and Wireline mechanical, electrical, and firmware designs.
Sound programming / scripting skills.
Technical publications in the area of NMR technology are a plus.
Advanced degree, preferably a Ph.D. degree in physics, mathematics, engineering, or relevant degree
Good inter-personal / communication skills.
Ability to work within a team.
Ability to contribute to technical discussions.
Initiative /drive / self starting.
Fluency in English.
Track record in innovative work.
Requires minimal supervision.
At least ten years experience in NMR tool development
Masters degree required,
