About the Job
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will support the Community Bank within the Great Lakes Region supporting the following Districts: Cleveland and NorthWest Ohio/Michigan Districts. The position can reside in either Cleveland, NorthWest Ohio or Michigan. The HRBP will work as integral member of the assigned client teams, helping them to maximize all aspect of people performance in order to deliver business objectives. The HRBP will be responsible for delivering the full HR compliment of services to assigned client groups. This position brings the full compliment of HR capabilities to the client and knows the right partner to insert for the right solution that includes recruiting and business training. He/She advises challenges and influences the senior clients to make informed business decisions which drive improved business performance. They contribute to the business strategy by helping leaders identify, prioritize and build organizational capabilities, structures and processes. The HRBP collaborates with HR partners and COEs to deliver seamless HR solutions to the clients.
Essential Job Functions
--Owns the delivery of HR services into dedicated business units. Using standard HR processes and tools, develop implementation plans that install the Human Resource disciplines and processes with client groups. Is an integral member of the management team for the assigned business unit functioning as a true business partner to provide advise and designed tools to support the achievement of the business objectives. The Human Resources services delivered are linked to the business units operating plan and priorities.
--Implement the Human Capital plan for the assigned business unit. Provide leadership and execution in the following areas to assigned business unit: organizational effectiveness, team development, communication, workforce planning, performance management, compensation, management development/coaching, employee engagement, business training, diversity and organizational interventions as needed. Partner with leaders and centers of expertise on workforce planning and lead Human Capital planning e.g. hiring, retention and performance management tactics including championing diversity commitments with emphasis on strategic positions. Workforce capabilities and effectiveness improve as a result of human capital plan execution.
--Supports M&A, divestiture, and outsourcing activity, including assisting in the creation of the HR integration blueprint (including post merger, divestiture, or outsourcing organization structure).
Creates the plan for acquired personnel that include talent assessment, compensation, training and onboarding. Implement the plan in synch with the organizational plan for the M&A, divestiture, or outsourcing. May serve on the integration team and will need to collaborate with other organizational partners to successful integrate/divest/extend the new organization. Objectives of M & A, D, and outsourcing are accomplished and are all human capital elements are executed flawlessly.
--Partners with business leaders, finance and compensation to develop compensation strategies. Facilitate compensation processes, e.g. incentive pay, base pay increases, offers for strategic/critical hires, etc. to ensure differentiation for high performance. Top performers and critical talent are retained. Bench strength for critical positions improves year over year.
--Leads talent and leadership development activities aligned with business strategy e.g. performance management, succession planning. Executes processes with a focus on development plans, coaching/counseling leaders, succession plans, bench strengthen for critical positions, retention of top talent, employee onboarding and new leader assimilation to drive business unit. Succession and bench strength improve year over year.
--Partners to effectively manage complex Employee Relations. Determine level of involvement required if Employee Relations escalates a case. Determine if involvement of a HRBP is required. If involvement is required, partner to determine level of involvement required and establish roles and responsibilities for resolution. Proactively refer clients to the ERST. Legal actions and costs are maintained within acceptable levels.
--Consults with leaders and partners to develop and execute change management and communication plans. Support the delivery and implementation of change management processes, in line with business strategies and financial challenges. Ensure learning points are identified and acted upon by senior leaders and the outcomes of changes are embedded in the employee and leadership strategies for sustainability. Change initiatives are sustained and results are realized.
Five plus (5 +) years of HR business partnership or related HR experience (7+ for Sr. HRBP)
Well-developed consultative and coaching skills
Strong presentation and written communication skills
Experience implementing change management and organizational development strategies
BS/BA in Business or equivalent degree
