Job Description
Government Executive Media Group is seeking a mid- level Events Content Manager to manage content development for Government Executive’s events business. This position will require skills in editorial conceptualization, research, talent booking, event execution, and an understanding of the Federal landscape and relevant actors and organizations.

Responsibilities Include:
Lead content development process for all Government Executive events including conferences, briefings, and speaker forums (in full collaboration with senior colleagues)
Work with GEMG Editors for 'high touch' recruitment of all of speakers within specific process deadlines and requirements
Understand underwriter/ partner issues, objectives and goals and how they relate to event content
Attend industry events and serve as an ambassador for Government Executive demonstrating poise, professionalism and full dedication
Work closely with marketing & audience development to develop written summaries, event overviews and marketing copy as needed
Reports to General Manager, GEMG Events

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:
Understanding of the government & federal arena
Contacts within the Federal speaker circuit
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in media, associations and/or government public affairs
Strong time-management and organizational skills, with ability to successfully manage multiple projects with varying deadlines simultaneously
Meticulous attention to detail
Extensive knowledge of national and local current events, newsmakers and government issues
Ability to foster senior level relationship and forge strong connections with strategic partners
Capacity to work independently and under pressure, to meet tight deadlines
