The Opportunity: Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed college student for our Engineering Intern position in Plymouth, Michigan. The Engineering Intern position is located in the Engineering Services Branch in Plymouth, Michigan. This division provides high quality, innovative and high value systems and services using SEL technology.

Engineering Intern Responsibilities:
Drawing updates.

Project lab testing, mocking up relays per customer schemes, loading settings and testing per engineers requirements.

Low-level engineering support for automation/protection engineers.

Assist Protection and Integration engineers on project work performing low-level engineering.

Design drawing updates using Autocad or Microstation software.

Construction of relay equipment racks for testing purposes on projects and assist with the testing.

Support application engineers with customer presentations and customer visits.

Testing and checkout of new products and software. Qualifications:
One or more years undergraduate studies in electrical engineering

Working knowledge of modern test equipment, digital oscilloscope and signal generator

Interest in electrical engineering field of system protection and control

Strong communication skills

Ability to work cooperatively in team environment

Background check results satisfactory to SEL

Negative drug test result(s) Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in programming with C and assembly languages and script files

Education emphasis in Power

Experience with drafting software Autocad or Microstation

Work experience with Utility or other electrical service provider
