Supervise employees in the fabrication, assembly or aircraft completions. This involves planning, organizing and controlling manpower cost, continuity of production flow according to schedules and the maintenance and improvement of quality, safety, efficiency, training and education of employees.
Supervises and assigns employees and crew to production operations in line with schedules and factory order requirements. Realigns assignments as required
Responsible for safety, quality, meeting schedules and efficiency of operations
Tours operations daily, checking on workmanship, efficiencies, safe working conditions and methods and compliance with routing sheet specifications. Resolves inspection “squawks”, instructing and directing on the method and extent of rework
Attends, participates and leads department and group meetings for items such as general communication and resolving problems
Reviews and recommends short and long term labor requirements, capital equipment and facilities expenditures
Maintain a relationship with the union stewards in the area.
Minimum of 60 credit hours towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Operational Management, Operational Leadership, Aviation Maintenance Management or related field.
GPA minimum of 3.2 undergraduate or 3.5 graduate
Work experience and/or internships in manufacturing and/or supervision a plus
Strong organizational, human relations and problem solving skills required
Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma preferred
Microsoft software experience required (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Must be flexible to work overtime
