Perform Electrical Testing in accordance with Test Procedures. Operate various meters and perform wire checks for continuity of installed cables and equipment. Perform alignments of shipboard systems. Assist trouble shooting efforts, as required. Individual will be involved with work on energized equipment and must understand and comply with Division Safety Manual and technical manual operating instructions. Individual will perform the duties of Safety Technician ensuring that systems and components are tagged out, isolated, and work areas are safe for other shipyard trades. Must be willing to obtain and maintain radiological dosimetry and will be required to perform work within radiologically controlled areas. Individual must obtain and maintain security clearance. Individual must be able to understand and explain electrical drawings, blueprints and diagrams.
High school/technical school preferred.
Three years experience in electrical acceptance testing and maintenance of shipboard components. US Navy shipboard electrical systems experience is desirable.
Person must demonstrate competency in understanding Electric Boat Procedures and Test Forms. The ability to determine technical testing requirements from electrical test equipment drawings is essential. Understanding and ability to use various hand, air and electrically operated equipment, meters and instruments.
