Partnering with our client, we are currently searching for an HES Specialist to provide HES representation and support to the project team during the construction and installation of a 130-mile subsea pipeline in the Gulf of Mexico. The position will be living onboard a construction vessel with up to 700 people (mulitple nationalities), working ona rotatoinal basis. T he candidate will participate in the safety leadership team meetings, perform safety inspections/audits, use stop work authority, be able to present training material at meetings, write reports, communicate opportunities for improvement, help the team accomplish safety goals, and ensure safety execution is per the plan

Responsibilities:
Provide HES Support On-Shore and Off-Shore (fabrication sites, ROV vessels and construction/installation vessel)
Be able to work on a rotational basis
Engage and help field staff in developing Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and help identify and mitigate risks at the work locations
Be able to speak up regarding safety and utilize stop work authority
Provide training to field staff onshore and offshore (audiences of 40+)
Perform safety inspections and provide written inspection documents to the HES department
Identify and document near miss and hazardous conditions at the work locations
Support construction team efforts and ensure activities are performed safety
Act as a company representative at the work locations
Perform as a team player to help the team accomplish safety goals and support a healthy safety culture among multiple nationalities
Candidate will help the team plan, integrate contractor team with the Company team as one, and evaluate safety aspects of the field location, vessel, local procedures and project procedures. Report to the HES Lead/Advisor on safety activities, metrics, near misses, incidents and be available to participate in root cause analysis of incident
Candidate must be able to communicate to all levels of management about risk, safety, construction risk elements, mitigation measures, and help implement an incident and injury free (IIF) culture and showing a care and concern for other
Candidate must be able to identify and have the ability to stop work when necessary

Requirements

Essentials:
Offshore construction experience on installation type vessels is required
Must have a valid passport, TWIC card and HUET training certification
Must have a valid medical release to work offshore and pass random drug screenings
3-5 years experience working offshore in a safety role preferably on construction vessels with multiple nationalities
3-5 year oil and gas related field experience
Experienced and proficient in delivering training to all organization levels using an interpreter for many languages
Strong understanding of safety and risk with an ability to communicate that to the work force
Able to read/comprehend company policy/requirements and ensure the work force are complying
Know OSHA, marine safety, IH requirements, PPE usage and requirements, risk mitigation techniques
Candidate must have a working knowledge of Chevron’s Safety Culture, OSHA safety requirements, marine safety requirements, understand and be able to perform Contractor Health Environment Safety (CHESM) inspections, and have the ability to review contractors’ standard operating procedures and project plans and identify critical information that could impact the project.
Strong communication and computer skills, including expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access
