The E xecutive Director is responsible for the overall administration and manag e ment of Rebuilding Together New Britain business operations. Areas of responsibility include fiscal management, public relations, qualifying and working with prospective recipients of Rebuilding Together services. Primary operational re s ponsibility for all aspects of the program.
Uphold the Rebuilding Together mission of providing quality services to the community. This is a full time position, hired by and directly acco untable to the Board of Directors (BOD).
Management and Administration Directs and facilitates the plan for achieving the agency's mission, stra tegy , goa ls and objectives. Oversees the program services and activities to ens ur e that program objectives are met. Develops and maintain s records and reports on programs and services provided to the community. Plans, develop s, supervises, and evaluates all programs. Ensures that organization a dhere s to all policies and procedure s se t forth by National Rebuilding Together organization Prepare s monthly financial statements and program report for Board Mana ges the day-to-day operations of office – may involve managing part time paid and volunteer staff. Trai ns and directs all office vol unte e r s, as well as, assist with the trainin g and guidance of field volunteers Develops the contacts, then d irects and maintains relations with all pro bono serv ice provid ers.
Fiscal Responsibility Maintains all financial records in an auditable condition. Assist w ith the annual audit performed by an independent audit firm D eve lops , recommends, and monitors annual budget, und er the guidance of the Board T r eas ur e r. Provides complete monthly and fiscal record-ke epi ng and reporting, including the h a ndlin g of all deposits and payments. Reviews a ll financial processes with elected board treasurer, on a weekly, monthly and annual basis. Develops grant applications for funding from federal, state and local governments as well as private foundations. Upon award ensures compliance with fundin g so urce s regulatory r equ irement s . Assists in th e development and coordination of fund raising activities to increase and add to ex i s tin g r eso urce s.
Board Relations Regularly meets with Executive Committee to discuss the agenda and materials for board meetings to ensure the opportunity for the board to fulfill all responsibilities effectively and involve each board member at an optimum level. Initiates and assists in developing policy recommendations and in setting priorities. Apprises the Board and Executive Committee on the condition of the agency and all important factors. Assi s ts th e B oard of D irectors members with fulfilling their committee fun ctio ns. Recommends policy changes to the board . Assists with the recommendation and orientation of new board members. Work with the Executive Committee and Committee Chairs to ensure effective and efficient board committee structure. Provides training on a a ll ne cessary topics
