Performs all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction.
Assist the Information Assurance Manager (IAM) with the execution and management of the command information assurance program to include architecture, requirements, objectives, and policies. Review existing security policies and procedures, whether formal or informal, and work with staff to develop formal policies and procedures to facilitate the protection of U.S. Government sensitive unclassified and classified information. Participate in network and systems design to ensure implementations of appropriate systems security policies and participate in the gathering, analysis and preservation of evidence used in the prosecution of computer crimes. Assist with the security accreditation process and packages in accordance with DoD information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP), DIACAP Application Manual DoD 8510.01, and the DoD 8500 series information assurance documentation.
Bachelor Degree in electrical, electronic or computer engineering; computer science, or related field required.
5-8 years of related experience in data security administration. A MS degree in a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of experience. A PhD in a related field may be substituted for an additional two (2) years of experience.
IAM level II required.
