Under direction, provides computer hardware, software and networking support to staff and faculty; answers end-user desktop computing questions via telephone and in person; provides general information regarding computing policies and service agreements; connects departmental tagged workstations to college network; installs networking peripherals in physical network closets to ensure full connectivity; logs activities in call ticket database; documents and updates records of all work done in databases; manages and participates in sponsor-led departmental technical projects; performs other job related duties as required.

Qualifications

Must have at least two years of professional experience in a helpdesk support call center; five years of experience with a wide variety of PC and Macintosh hardware and software required; knowledge of Linux desktops a plus; knowledge of networking and TCP IP protocols required; must have Bachelor’s degree; must be able to work off-hours and weekends as needed; excellent organization and communication skills.
