Clinical Psychologist - Pediatric Opportunity in Illinois!
Duties & Responsibilities
Inpatient Service (50% time)
Provide behaviormal-medicine interventions for pediatric inpatients and/or their families for managing emotional distress reltated to procedures, acute injuries, chronic illness, and end-of-life care.
Participate on the Palliative Care Team.
Outpatient Service (50% time)
Provide psychotherpay services to children referred to the outpatient clinic in collaboration with the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry team.
Design and provide training for a full-time postdoctoral fellow in Pediatric Psychology
Maintain documentation of patient care in compliance with departmental and institutional requirements.
Participate in the educational programs of the departments for residents and medical students.
Candidate must be a licensed clinical psychologist with a PhD or PsyD degree and 3 or more years of postgraduate hospital-based experience. Candidates should have competence in treatment approaches with efficacy for pain management, habit change, childhood mood disorders, and coping with chronic illness. The ideal candidate will possess strong collaboration skills and be accustomed to working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Minimum Education or Experience
Candidate must be be a licensed clinical psychologist with a PhD or PsyD degree and completion of an APA-approved internship in Pediatric Psychology.
