ROLE of the POSITION
This position provides functional analysis and technical support for the UNLV data
warehouse, to assist in the collection and documentation of campus data to meet both university and NSHE system-wide needs. The employee
works with all campus data stewards and other functional area experts to design the Business Intelligence (BI), and reporting solutions to
meet their data needs. The employee will work closely with the Senior DataWarehouse/Business Intelligence Developer to manage and maintain
the BI environment. Representative responsibilities include:
- · Developing data mappings between source and destination data
- · Managing UNLV's Ascential data load and transformation processes
- · Troubleshooting data loading and
transformation procedures for functionality and performance problems.
Required: Bachelor's degree from a
regionally accredited college or university, with four or more years of comparable professional experience.
The incumbent is
expected to have core concepts and design techniques related to a PeopleSoft ERP system and an Oracle business intelligence platform. The
employee must possess a moderate knowledge of: OLAP tools, ETL tools and strategies, data warehouse and data marts as they pertain to
business intelligence needs. The incumbent must be able to write and troubleshoot SQL statements; design, and modify database structures
using established data warehouse rules and best practices, and provide documentation of new/modified system designs.
Experience with Oracle EPM, Ascential DataStage and OBIEE preferred ; Higher education experience.
