The HIV/ID Nurse is responsible for provision and management of patient care in a clinical area for specific age and patient populations. The HIV/ID Nurse delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation; and effectively interacts with patient, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining standards of professional nursing.

Position Requirements


Required: BSN Degree from an accredited school of professional nursing. A minimum of 3 years of experience as an RN.

Must: (1) enter 4,000 keystrokes per hour; (2) possess basic knowledge of PC applications, software, and database management.

Preferred: The Ideal candidate will have experience in a fast paced ambulatory setting, administration of chemotherapy and moderate level of familiarity with information technology such as a desk top computer.


• Current Alabama RN license.
• Current CPR certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS or must be obtained within 6 months of employment
• HIV/AIDS certification
• Ad mixture certification or must be obtained within 90 days of employment
• Chemotherapy certification.
