Date of Appointment: August 21, 2013 Vacancies at SCSU are contingent on university funding and budgets.
Teach core graduate and undergraduate courses, including introductory general anthropology for undergraduates and electives at all levels. Graduate-level courses include CRM I and II and Technical Writing. Advise M.S students and chair master’s committees. In order to be considered for tenure, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to: teach and/or perform assignment effectively in other current assignments, produce a record of scholarly/creative achievement or research, continue preparation and study, contribute to student growth and development, and provide service to the university and community. Ph.D. in Anthropology by time of appointment (if currently ABD, please provide date of graduation)
Specialization in North American archaeology
Record of teaching and classroom responsibility at the college/university level
Evidence of commitment to four-field anthropology
Evidence of demonstrated ability to teach and work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds. Preferred:
Experience and skills that complement those of current faculty (see http://www.stcloudstate.edu/anthropology/ for information about current faculty).
Ability to teach undergraduate/graduate field school
Current and/or prospective research projects that provide opportunities for graduate student involvement
