We are seeking a motivated individual with a passion for managing systems and networks. If you are passionate about operations, willing to learn, and want to work on a fun and fast moving team - we want to talk to you.

The Rally Operations team supports Rally's SaaS Agile Life-cycle Management tool from development through to production. The team works closely with Software Engineering in an empowered, collaborative and fun environment to scale this fast growing service.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage Linux systems across multiple datacenters and Amazon EC2.

Continuously improve our Operations processes, automation tools, monitoring systems and development process.

Work closely with developers to architect & optimize the Rally service.

Network administration of our Cisco Firewalls, Switches & IDS systems.

Assist with production system security policies and audits.

Participate in a rotating On-Call schedule.

Participation in high-stakes foosball, ping-pong, Wii/PS3 games, billiards tournaments, Bouldering & Soccer.

What we’re looking for:
3+ years of Linux experience. Prior SaaS or Web application experience a plus.

Detailed and methodical nature when managing production systems.

A strong desire to learn & a willingness to try new ways of doing things.

Ability to document changes and procedures for all systems. We prefer automation over documented process (but we like both).

A strong desire to seek & destroy tough technical problems.

Strong communication skills, collaboration is really important at Rally.

Linux scripting skills. We like ruby, we also have bash scripts.

Nagios, Cacti and other monitoring solutions.

Puppet & Capistrano

Continuous Deployment

Ruby, bash scripting & Java

CentOS & Oracle Enterprise Linux, Jetty

Oracle 11g & mysql

Thorough knowledge of NCAA bracketology, World Cup draws, and setup of Internet video feeds.
