We are looking for a General Ledger Accountant that has a great positive attitude, highly motivated to learn and grow within the organization. This person will be a valuable member of the Finance and Accounting team, to assist in all accounting aspects of preparing a full set of financial statements, including preparation of the general ledger entries, reconciliations and analysis. This person will report to the Controller and responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting close
Record general ledger account reconciliations and financial statements by entity including cash, fixed assets, prepaids, security deposits, accruals, accrued liabilities, T&E accrual, reserves, equity and retained earnings, including inter-company related transactions for accuracy in accordance with US GAAP
Assist in preparation of intercompany transactions and consolidation entries including foreign currency accounting
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and analyze account activities, investigate, and resolve necessary items
Ability to work with overseas international staff and consultants for international consolidation
Preparation of lease expense schedules and journal entries in accordance with US GAAP
Prepare allocation and property tax entries
Maintain internal financial controls and procedures, including developing and/or updating procedures to enhance efficiency and internal controls
Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules
Assist and support the administrative tasks in Company’s financial systems and employees reimbursement reporting
Other assignments as necessary to assist in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and customer service
Special projects as needed and assigned
Bachelors degree in Accounting preferred.
Minimum of 2+ years of general ledger experience required
Experience with major ERP system required, especially Oracle 12R
Working knowledge of Quickbooks; Intermediate Excel skills are required.
Effective problem solving, methodical, detail-oriented, innovative, and highly analytical.
A multi-tasker with the ability to accurately work in a fast paced, rapidly growing environment
Strong working knowledge of GAAP.
Self-starter - able to prioritize workload, handle multiple tasks, work as part of a team as well as independently.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional teams environment
Willingness to streamline processes and adapt to changes typical of a start-up
Excellent written, interpersonal and communication skills
