STYLE DIRECTOR

This person will drive the consistent creative expression of our brand as we build out our compelling and innovative new e-commerce model. This person will also be a key member of the Joss & Main team, driving the expression of our unique blend of commerce and content.

Oversee editorial calendar of seasonal, monthly, weekly, and daily themes, daily visual design & copy for our sales events, and features

Manage, mentor and help build a creative production department responsible for design and copy for multiple daily sales events; this team is already in place, highly talented with strong leadership, but needs to be substantially expanded and our voice and quality need to be more clearly defined

Rapidly build and oversee a photography & stylist group , in-house studio, and on-site capabilities to support our brand definition and expansion of our product catalog

Contribute to overall site vision and site design for high-end luxury home goods & design retail site, including providing direction for the creation of new features and elements

Ensure consistency of consumer experience and Joss & Main voice across touchpoints (site, e-mail, mobile applications, advertising campaigns, concierge)

The ideal candidate will be:
Deeply experienced in editorial content, calendars, and production – understands how to bring a content brand to life; understands how consumers navigate and consume daily and weekly doses of inspiration

Familiar with aspirational brands & retailing – experienced with fine brands and bringing fine brands and products (especially home, lifestyle, or fashion) to life for consumers

Passion for e-commerce –the ideal candidate will be familiar with key aspects of user experience, driving consumer purchase behavior online, and working in a data-rich environment where there is robust data to inform how and how well designs and creative expression help achieve business objectives

Hands on, “Show not tell” – In the early days of building this department, the ideal candidate will need to be comfortable diving into Photoshop, or a thorny piece of copy. This willingness will be core to demonstrating and living the brand for our team

Comfortable and experienced in a creative management role – know how to motivate and manage a creative team to achieve both high productivity and quality

Articulate & persuasive – Highly fluent in verbal and written communications; can convincingly articulate the Joss & Main brand and advocate for new initiatives, campaigns, and site experience elements

Relates to core consumer – the style director needs to relate to, understand, and resemble our target consumer

Entrepreneurial – not daunted by the prospect of being a key contributor to a the rapid development of a business that is defining and refining aspirational buying for the home.
