The Programmer Analyst applies systems analysis and design techniques along with advanced programming skills to provide solutions for computer software systems.
Formulates scope and objectives of a project, through research and fact finding of user requirements, to develop and/or modify computer software systems.
Performs all phases of application systems analyses and design.
Performs programming involving coding, testing, documentation, and implementation computer software systems.
Provides user support involving training, problem solving, and supplying special request solutions.
Analyzes and researches production problems, providing solutions that meet user needs in a timely manner.
Provides management with accurate and realistic estimates and time lines for projects.
Provides on-call support to data processing as needed.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQURIED TO PERFORM JOB :
Good understanding of programming and data processing operations, fluent in RPG-ILE, DDS, SQL, and CL-ILE languages, Windows applications, PHP, HTML, Java Script, data base design, and IBM i (formerly i5/OS) commands.
Proficient at systems analysis and design techniques for computer software systems.
Excellent verbal and written skills
Motivated and self-starter
Ability to prioritize, analyze, interpret, and evaluate information.
Extensive problem solving, planning, and administrative abilities with attention to detail and follow through.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQURIED TO PERFORM JOB :
High school education or equivalent
B.S. in computer science or equivalent experience preferred
RPG ILE experience preferred
Three years experience preferred in design and implementation of computer systems on IBM Power Systems servers (formerly AS/400).
