This position supports the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Chief Operating Officer (COO), and the Commissioner's Office staff by providing clerical and administrative support. The Executive Secretary Sr. will be responsible for planning and coordinating meetings; making travel arrangements and preparing all relevant documentation; research and collect pertinent narrative statistical data and prepare reports; independently prepare correspondence with general direction from CAO and COO; responsible for the procurement of supplies for Commissioner's Office; screen calls and disseminate information based on knowledge of agency programs, policies, and procedures; serve as first point of contact for visitors to the Commissioner's Office; and manage the flow of correspondence received in the Commissioner's Office. This position will also serve as backup to the Commissioner's Administrative Assistant as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of office and workflow management. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software. Excellent organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with a wide variety individuals inside and outside the agency; ability to communicate tactfully with individuals and groups who make demands on the agency and the Commissioner; to work independently and with others; to make appropriate judgments/recommendations on issues with broad impact on the agency, without close supervision; to manage a variety of assignments and changing priorities; to interpret policies and procedures; and to perform quantitative and narrative reporting. Graduation from high school or the equivalent, with post-secondary course work in business administration or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience providing administrative support to a top executive and, managing executive office activities.

Special Requirements
The successful candidate must pass a criminal conviction investigation.
