The Department of Pathology of Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine is seeking a pathologist with fellowship training or experience in gastrointestinal/hepatic pathology.

Candidates must have an MD degree or equivalent and be AP Board-certified/eligible. Individuals will be required to obtain a medical license in the State of Illinois. Strong diagnostic skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as strong work ethic abilities are essential. A record of demonstrated academic productivity and scholarly accomplishments indicating commitment to academic career is desirable.

The successful candidate will join a cohesive team of sub specialized surgical pathologists who handle approximately 25,000 surgical specimens annually. Ample opportunities for clinical/translational research and multidisciplinary collaboration with investigators of the Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center are available. The selected candidate will be at the rank of Assistant, Associate or full Professor commensurate with experience.

Loyola University Health system is a quaternary care system located in the western suburbs of Chicago. The medical center campus is conveniently located in Maywood, 13 miles west of the Chicago Loop and 8 miles east of Oak Brook, Ill. The heart of the medical center campus, Loyola University Hospital, is a 570 licensed bed facility. It houses a Level 1 Trauma Center, a Burn Center and the Ronald McDonald Children's Hospital of Loyola University Medical Center. Also on campus are the Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center, Loyola Outpatient Center, Center for Heart & Vascular Medicine and Loyola Oral Health Center as well as the LUC Stritch School of Medicine, the LUC Niehoff School of Nursing and the Loyola Center for Health & Fitness.

The Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine has research institutes in bioethics and health policy, burn/shock/trauma, cardiovascular, neuroscience and oncology, and signal transduction. More than 500 medical students and 500 residents are taught by more than 1,200 full and part-time salaried faculty.
